| Make it yours | |
|---|---|
| Find your character | Drop anywhere to browse, search, and sort local collections, or open a GitHub folder and download one model or all of them. |
| See every motion | Play, pause, scrub, and compare animations live; previews stop rendering when you leave their page. |
| Keep an animation | Export one or several Live2D motions as transparent WebP or APNG, with your choice of resolution and frame rate. No pet-state mapping required. Choose the format in Settings. |
| Keep the character, hide the clutter | Identify parts with thumbnails and hide separable backgrounds or effects. |
| One project, two destinations | Assign animations to Clawd or Codex states, then build ready-to-import packages. |
| Interactive by default | Unmapped Clawd drag and double-click reactions safely reuse Idle. |
| Guided, not overwhelming | A short contextual tutorial follows you from Models to Map and Build; skip it anytime or replay it from Settings. |
| Pick up where you left off | Save projects, reuse runtimes, and match English or Simplified Chinese automatically on first launch. |
| Know when a fix ships | Check the latest stable GitHub Release from Settings, automatically or on demand. |
- Choose a model — drop a folder or supported PCK, or browse a GitHub collection. Review model details in Models; Map focuses on animation preview and assignments.
- Make it your pet — preview motions, hide unwanted parts, and assign pet states.
- Build and enjoy — name your pet, choose quality, then save the ZIP or install it.
Your models stay local. Original source files stay unchanged. Only need an animation? Choose Export animation in Map's Model Preview header. Compatible exports and Clawd builds share the same bounded cache. Animation export → Replacing an installed pet requires confirmation and protects the previous package if the upgrade fails. Installation recovery → Pointer tracking is preview-only; exported Live2D frames use a stable neutral focus and 60 Hz physics integration regardless of output frame rate.

Unsigned builds for macOS and Windows.
Open the latest GitHub Release and download the build for your computer:
Live2Pet-macOS-x64.dmgsupports Intel Macs.Live2Pet-macOS-arm64.dmgsupports Apple Silicon Macs.Live2Pet-Windows-x64.zipsupports 64-bit Windows.
On macOS, open the DMG and drag Live2Pet.app onto the Applications shortcut.
These builds are not signed with trusted developer certificates. If Finder says Live2Pet is damaged or cannot be opened, first make sure the DMG came from this repository and the App is in Applications, then run:
xattr -r -d com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Live2Pet.appOn Windows, Microsoft Defender SmartScreen may show an unrecognized-app warning. Verify that the ZIP came from this repository, then use More info → Run anyway if you want to continue. Signing and notarization are planned for a later release.
To build the unsigned App from source instead, install Git, Node.js 22.12+, and pnpm 11:
git clone https://github.com/receyuki/live2pet.git
cd live2pet
corepack enable
pnpm install
pnpm --filter @live2pet/desktop package:mac
open apps/desktop/out/Live2Pet-darwin-*/Live2Pet.appOn first launch, add your runtime and follow the optional guided tutorial. You can skip it at any time and replay it from Settings → General. Setup help and troubleshooting →
Supported inputs
- Live2D Cubism 2–5 model folders
- Supported Live2D PCK files
- Spine 3.8 and 4.0–4.3 folders, with a matching optional renderer
- Spine 2.1, 3.5 JSON, 3.6–3.7 and deprecated 3.8.75 exports, with verified local compatibility packs
Export destinations — choose either target for a supported model:
- Clawd on Desk — themes with transparent WebP or APNG animations
- Codex custom pets — V2 sprite atlases
Save a lightweight .l2p project for local work, or a portable .l2pack project that includes a copy of the selected model. Legacy .live2pet projects remain supported.
You can keep editing while saving. Generated packages stay with their project; older results are labelled when you make changes. Finish or cancel an active build before switching projects.
Other desktop apps can open an isolated, on-demand Visibility editor without replacing your current project. Integration protocol →
Rebuilding reuses verified animation assets while they remain in the bounded local cache. Renaming a pet does not rerender it; changing a Clawd animation rebuilds only the missing assets.
Spine support remains in preview. PCK support depends on its contents and packaging. Detailed support and limitations →
Compatibility fixes for supported Live2D motion metadata and Spine 3.8 atlas-name whitespace happen in memory; source files stay unchanged. Spine 4.x atlas pages must use a consistent alpha mode.
Add once. Reuse automatically. Live2D runtime files are distributed separately under their own terms. Drop a downloaded runtime or extracted SDK folder into Settings → Runtimes.
| Your model | What to get |
|---|---|
| Cubism 3–5 | Official Cubism SDK for Web → Core/live2dcubismcore.min.js |
| Cubism 2 | live2d.min.js from the third-party legacy archive |
| Spine 3.8 / 4.0–4.3 | Click Install for the matching renderer in the App |
| Spine 2.1 / 3.5 JSON / 3.6–3.7 / 3.8.75 | Local compatibility setup; see the runtime guide |
