No. Many checks work on non-rooted devices; when root is detected (adbd-root, Magisk, su), the tool elevates where safe to do so.

Q: How do I add my organization-specific checks?
Place additional JSON files under a folder and point --json-dir to it; files are merged.

Q: Can I run against an emulator?
Yes—anything ADB/SSH can reach.
