The Spigot shadow jar excluded every io.netty module except haproxy, which stripped netty-codec-http and caused a NoClassDefFoundError for io/netty/handler/codec/http/HttpMessage when starting built-in signaling. Claude-Session: https://claude.ai/code/session_012rubsBery89Z2pziHbMejL
Also prints the full stack trace in debug mode if built-in signaling could not start.
Paper 1.20.5/1.20.6 bundle Netty 4.1.97, which has no MultiThreadIoEventLoopGroup, so external signaling failed with a NoClassDefFoundError there.

Claude Code Opus 5.5 was used to author, and review, this fix. Whilst doing that, it was found that ping-passthrough broke on 26.3 paper; PR for this will follow in a minute
