Summary

Turborepo LSP Extension cannot be used in Cursor.
The problem is i cannot find it in the extensions list.
I think it is because it needs to be published in the open registry: https://open-vsx.org.

Confirmed your hypothesis by checking directly: the extension's package.json in the repo (packages/turbo-vsc/package.json) lists "publisher": "Vercel" and "name": "turbo-vsc". Querying Open VSX's API for that exact identifier (Vercel.turbo-vsc) returns "error": "Extension not found", while it's live on the official VS Code Marketplace. So yes, it's exactly what you suspected — it's only published to Microsoft's marketplace, not to Open VSX, so Cursor (and any other Open VSX–based editor, like VSCodium or Windsurf) can't find or install it through their extensions panel.

Since it's closed-source/not built from a public build pipeline you can just point at Open VSX yourself, your options are:

1. Download the .vsix from the Marketplace page directly and use "Install from VSIX..." in Cursor — this works even without the extension being in any registry, since it's just a local file install.
2. Ask in the turborepo repo (an issue, not this discussion) for the Vercel team to also push it to Open VSX — plenty of other publishers dual-publish, it's usually just one extra CI step (ovsx publish) once you have an Open VSX token, so it's a reasonable ask if you want it to stay in sync automatically going forward.
