What time period does the Open API views field cover?

I’m opening a focused question because this is the only part of the listing views field that I still can’t label confidently.

From the recent replies in Discussions #1709 and #1710, I understand that:

• views belongs to the individual listing and is not attributed to the keyword used in a request.
• It includes traffic from all sources.
• It is tabulated once per day.
• “Tabulated once per day” describes the refresh schedule, not the measurement period.
• The value is preserved across listing renewals.
• The field has the same meaning across the active-listings, individual-listing, and batch-listings endpoints.

What timeframe does the number itself cover?

1. Is it cumulative from the listing’s original creation—effectively lifetime/all-time listing views?
2. Or is it calculated over a rolling period? If so, exactly how long is that period?
3. Can the number naturally decrease when older views leave the measurement window, or should it generally only increase?
4. If it is cumulative, are there any listing lifecycle events that reset it besides creating a completely new listing ID?

This distinction matters because cumulative views describe historical listing traction, while rolling views describe recent activity. I’m building a seller research feature and want to label the data accurately rather than guess or imply the wrong timeframe.

Even a brief direct confirmation would be greatly appreciated.

This should be covered in the api docs as its such a crucial metric.
