❌ Test failure

@rikettsie: this pull request adds the AppImage from your GitHub repository to the AppImage catalog; the test reports the following. Could you have a look?

First error in the log:

FATAL: .DirIcon is missing in /tmp/.mount_runtimdiLnPa

What next: once the AppImage is fixed (e.g. in a new release), comment /retest here to test it again. If it should not be in the catalog after all, close this pull request; an app that is already in the catalog can be removed by a maintainer with /remove.

Thank you for submitting this application! We would like to add it to the AppImage catalog, but for this the AppImage needs a .DirIcon file, and the one tested here does not have it.

This is a bug of Tauri's AppImage bundling that is fixed in Tauri 2.11.4: tauri-apps/tauri#15596. Updating to Tauri 2.11.4 or later and building a new release of the AppImage should be all that is needed.

Once the new release is out, please comment /retest here and the application is tested again. Thank you!

✅ Test passed

Please check that the screenshot shows the application's main window.

ringdrop-gui

ringdrop-gui

Tested:

Compatibility: not self-contained: uses the C library of the system; references glibc 2.35

Notes:

  • File name 'ringdrop-gui': all-lowercase names are typically used for command line tools, but the desktop file does not set Terminal=true. If this is a graphical application, please name the file after the application as it is spelled, with capitals where it has them (e.g. 'Krita'); if it is a command line tool, set Terminal=true in its desktop file.

Warnings:

  • The window is mostly dark, so the application seems to start in a dark theme although the test system is not set to dark mode. Please use a light mode by default and use the dark theme only when the system is configured for dark mode (e.g. the GTK/Qt or theme setting) or the user chooses it in the settings.
  • The AppImage contains no update information, so users cannot update it with AppImageUpdate or similar tools. Please consider embedding it when building the AppImage (e.g., appimagetool -u) and publishing the .zsync file next to the AppImage; see https://docs.appimage.org/packaging-guide/optional/updates.html

Thanks @probonopd ! I published the v0.7.1 which fixes the missing .DirIcon (Tauri 2.12 bump) and the test now passes. Concerning the other notes, dark-only is intentional for now, and update info isn't supported by Tauri's bundler. Happy for this to be merged as is.
